Maui Humane Society (“MHS”), a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, has been in existence for 69 years and is the only open admission animal shelter on the island of Maui in Hawaii. Each year they help thousands of animals, last year taking in over 4,419 homeless animals to their shelter and serving many times that number through community outreach programs for owned pets. The Dogs Trust USA grant funding will help MHS provide low-cost veterinary care including spay/neuter surgeries to at-risk dogs in their community
